Covering 1850.35 square kilometers (1150 square miles) of rolling hills and valleys, expanses of boreal forest, a strip of eastern deciduous forest and huge areas of meadows, grasslands and marshes, this area of wilderness is home to wolves, moose, elk, black bears and a captive bison heard.
