Throughout the summer, take in our various craft fairs, farmers' markets, art galleries and restaurants to immerse yourself in the local colour.

Our historic downtowns offer many shops with a wide array of handmade jewelry, crafts, fresh produce and giftware. A shopper's paradise!

Our community theatre and local musicians are sure to entertain you year-round. Let's party!

FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
Every visit you make to the Valleys and Vistas region is guaranteed to be special, but some days are more memorable than others are.

Throughout the year, our communities are alive with the celebration of country fairs and numerous festivals.

Great music, great people and great food (even rhubarb and saskatoon pie) are just some of the experiences waiting for you, with opportunities to live and learn virtually everywhere you look.

BELOW IS A LIST OF THE MAJOR EVENTS HAPPENING IN OUR REGION IN 2009

Fun Fest, Agriculture Fair & Heritage Days (July 10-12, Minnedosa):
Come experience what makes small-town living so special. The 46th annual Fun Fest and Heritage Days features three days of fun for everyone. Take a self-guided tour of our Founder's Parks and Stone Buildings or tour our Heritage Village to get an understanding of earlier times. Many ex-Minnedosans make the pilgrimage to come back, renew acquaintances, relive memories and see the changes that have gone on in their hometown.  Experience one of the best Agriculture Fairs in rural Manitoba - proud to host year #128 - visit www.discoverminnedosa.com for more details.

Rockin' the Fields (July 30 - August 2, Minnedosa):
Minnedosa's Annual Rockfest is August Long Weekend. 2009 bands will be announced shortly.  The festival takes place on the east side of Minnedosa Lake. The RFM site is only a short distance from Town where you can shop, dine, and explore our business sector. On-site camping is available.            Call 1-888-330-8333 for more details.  www.rockinthefields.com

Canada Day Celebrations (July 1, Minnedosa Beach):
Come celebrate with 5,000 of your closest friends. Minnedosa Beach is a great place to play in the sand and splash in the lake. The family will enjoy the games and carnival set up. Have a picnic lunch or BBQ supper. Then, at dusk, huddle under a blanket as the sky erupts with Westman's biggest Canada Day Fireworks Show.

Carberry's Ag Society Fair & Races (July 3-5, Carberry):
Featuring chariot and chuckwagon races, a rodeo, livestock competitions, a midway, home cooking, camping, and grandstand entertainment, people of all ages can enjoy the weekend.

Drag Races (Annually during the August long weekend, Neepawa):
The Yellowhead Road Runners auto club will stage the seventh annual Runway Drags in 2009 on the runway at the Neepawa Airport. We take pride in offering great action for those who have the need for speed either as spectators or racers. Our events are aimed at the amateur drag racer who wants to try out the sport without feeling overwhelmed with class rules or worrying about making a mistake at the line. The track is set up for 1/8th mile drags which help us keep insurance costs down and also helps racers keep drive train parts where they belong!

With plenty of seating on site, great concessions, paved parking and pit areas, and a track that is said to be one of the smoothest around the Yellowhead Road Runners Runway Drags are where you need to be this August, 2008!

Neepawa  Lily Festival (July 17-19, Neepawa):
Plan to attend Neepawa's lilyfestival for great food, incredible fun, music and lilies. There is something for everyone of all ages. Walking, bus and horse tours available of private yards and public parks that are abloom with lilies of many varieties and colours. Visit the famous Lily Nook.
